In my Women's Health class we're discussing menarche, the transformation from girl to woman as is portrayed through the beginning of one's menstrual cycle. I would absolutely love to hear of rituals or personal experiences surrounding this beautiful time. If you feel led to share, it would be my honor to know. Thank you.

Thank you for asking.....when my friends daughter began to bleed, we had a "red party"
All of us women dressed in red, my friend had bought her daughter a red dress.
We gathered at her house and sang to her daughter and led her by candle light down the road
to my house where we had a ritual, some shamanic journeying and sharing of stories of bleeding
and then we ate red food. It was so beautiful. She was enchanted by the process.
